Yes folks! I survived the swimming leg in Lake Kenyir. No sign of Arapaimas to gobble me up! Hacked that dreaded hilly cycling route that nearly killed my legs and hobbled to finish up the run leg. Fine, it wasn't a fantastic timing but I am on cloud 9 completing my first tri!
And no, I wasn't last in my category lol. In fact there were 6 more behind me and the last person finished in 4hours and 34mins. So yeah, still elated with this accomplishment. Specially the swim leg where there were initial fears of swimming in a 'bottomless' lake. In all honesty, I realised that doing a triathlon is a different beast from running a marathon or even a ultra marathon. It has also taught me a lot of lesson that hopefully I could improve on and do better in my next tri. Huh, what next tri???
Anyway, I'll blog the details in a bit. The first time is ever the most painful one, but a truly satisfying and enjoyable one!
